  • My grandmother, Nan, in the 1950s, before tragedy struck her life. She was a cheerleader and a tomboy. She married her high school sweetheart, Warren. They had little baby boy. Soon after this photo, Warren was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and passed away. I look at this picture and think about the difficult times that were ahead for my grandmother. What an awful shock that must have been to become a widow so suddenly. She later met and married my grandfather, Bob. I'm so grateful she overcame the heartbreak of losing her first husband and took another chance on love and marriage. #genealogyphotoaday August Day 9, my grandmother #familyhistory #savefamilyphotos
