The third edition has been fully updated to reflect the latest Airtable interface and features, including:

- Updated interface guidance — Revised icons and step-by-step instructions to match Airtable’s current look and navigation.
- Expanded field types — Now includes Created Time and Currency field types, plus AI agent options for applicable fields.
- Improved timeline sorting — New formula tip for converting partial dates (year, month, or full date) into a sortable format.
- Automation for adding to timeline — How to automatically add a timeline entry from a source in the research log by clicking a checkbox field
- Refreshed free plan limits — Updated to reflect current limits, including automation runs, AI credits, and collaboration options.
- Streamlined terminology — “Record type” is now “source type,” “citation” is now “source citation,” and more, for clearer, more consistent language throughout.
- General — Shortened and simplified instructions across all four pages for easier reading.
