Rebecca Martin loves genealogy work because it is the perfect marriage of two of her passions: family, and meaningful writing. She graduated from BYU with an associate's degree in English and Humanities in 1988 and
a bachelor's degree in genealogy and family history in 2022. Beccy is competent in United States and German research. She speaks German and reads Fraktur and Deutsche Schrift. She thrills over solving family history puzzles with documentary research and enjoys writing biographies.
A published, award-winning composer, Beccy's first career was running her own piano studio, teaching piano, composition, and music theory, which she did for twenty-five years. Beccy is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is also a member of the National Genealogical Society and the Association of Professional Genealogists.
Beccy and her husband Troy are the parents of three sons and one daughter, and the grandparents of two adorable grandchildren. Beccy enjoys going for long walks with Troy, reading, piecing quilts, baking, writing music, and playing with her grandkids.
