Are you going to be at Rootstech 2020 in Salt Lake City? If so, we’d love to visit with you in person. For the first time, Family Locket Genealogists will have a booth in the Expo Hall for the entire conference. We have some exciting things planned to help you in your genealogy and family history endeavors.
Research Like a Pro Meet-up and Research Like a Pro Ribbons
Collecting ribbons for your conference name tag is a fun way to add a little bling to the week. We’ll have green Research Like a Pro ribbons for anyone stopping by the booth. We’ll have a meet-up for all RLP fans on Wednesday, the opening night of the Expo Hall. Meet at our booth for a group photo and to get your ribbon – 5:30 pm, Wednesday, February 26th.

The Expo Hall will stay open later this year giving you more time to explore after classes are completed for the day.

Books
Still need to purchase a copy of our books? We’ll have a limited number of books available for purchase so come early to pick up a copy for yourself or a friend. Our conference special: Research Like a Pro: A Genealogist’s Guide – $15, Find Names for the Temple: A Step-by-Step Method for Success – $10. Nicole and I will be happy to sign books with a personalized message. If you’ve previously purchased a book, bring it by – we’ll sign that as well.
DNA Process Tree Charts
Our brand new products, DNA process tree charts, were created by Robin Wirthlin, our DNA specialist. The PDF downloadable charts are now available in our shop here on Family Locket. If you’ll be at Rootstech, come by and check out the professionally printed and laminated charts. We’ll be happy to walk you through the process and help you get started on your DNA journey.
Robin created two charts for working with autosomal DNA results – one for verifying genetic connections to ancestors and one for solving unknown and misattributed parentage cases. Click here to read more about how to use the process trees.
Drawing for a Free Research Like a Pro e-Course
If you’ve been thinking about joining our e-Course to better learn the RLP process, we’ll have a drawing for a free subscription. Come by the booth and enter – someone has to win! We’ll also have flyers with a coupon code for our special conference price of $89. Click here to get our coupon and even if you are #NotatRootsTech – scroll down to the end of the page.
Felt Family Tree Kits
Nicole created a no-sew felt family tree for her children that is fun and easy to put together. Her blog post titled “Felt Family Tree – Interactive Activity for Kids” gives instructions for making one yourself. If you’d like to purchase a kit with the heavy lifting done for you, we’ll have those available for purchase. Looking for a fun and easy family history themed gift for the children in your life? This is the perfect solution. Click here to see more color choices.
Family Discovery Day
If you’re coming to the free Family Discovery Day on Saturday, we have created a fun Find a Name Scavenger Hunt for children. Pick up a worksheet from our booth to get started and complete it using the FamilySearch Family Tree app or website. Everyone completing a worksheet and bringing it back will win a bookmark and 50% off our book, Find Names for the Temple.
Extras
We will also have some fun extras at the booth like candy, lockets (since our name is Family Locket), flowcharts, free Research Like a Pro consultations, and more. We’re excited to meet as many of you as possible!
