Have you been interested in joining a Research Like a Pro Study Group, but worried about the time commitment? Perhaps the dates didn’t work for you or you were nervous about receiving peer feedback on your work. I’m excited to announce that Nicole and I are launching the Research Like a Pro E-course designed to give you the extra boost you might need in your research efforts. You’ll be able to work at your own pace and still receive valuable assistance along the way.
The E-course will include lifetime access to eight webinars corresponding to chapters in the book. In each webinar, I lead you through the key concepts using real life examples. You’ll get in-depth answers to your questions and gain a deeper understanding of the Research Like a Pro process.

Reviewing previous research and analyzing source information: Learn how to analyze the sources you have found and extract all of the possible data from them.
Location research: Study jurisdictions, boundary changes, and discover the importance of understanding “where” an event occurred.
Research planning: Learn to make a focused plan that will guide you to the best sources that will answer your research question.
Source citations: Study the elements of a good source citation and learn to create your own.
Logging your research: Discover how to organize your research using a research log and source citations.
Writing up your research: Learn the many ways you can share your research, how to write a simple proof summary, and discover the best option for any research scenario.

How to Register
Registration for the 2018 Fall E-Course opens August 1st and closes August 31st. Purchase early for the best deals. Course material will be available September 1st, 2018. It’s your time to Research Like a Pro!
The course sounds interesting, however, I’m wondering how American-centric it is. I’ve noticed the book is fairly general – is the course the same?
We’ll be following the same principles as in the book and you’ll be able to apply them to any research project in any locality. I hope that helps!
I took Diana’s study group last winter and, while her examples were primarily US-centric, the principles are not. I am researching in England and they are absolutely applicable to that research and I can’t imagine where they wouldn’t be. Wherever your research takes you, you should be better equipped to deal with it if you keep the principles from Diana’s course firmly in mind. (And no one is paying me to say that!)
Thanks Barbara! I’m looking forward to one day tackling my Danish research and I’ll be using the method there as well.
