For Father’s Day, my kids and I came up with a project to learn about fathers in our family tree and how they are courageous, strong, generous, and kind…like super heroes! We also made a “Super Dad” card that you can draw a picture of dad’s face on (or glue a photo onto it).
Here are the printables !
Super Dads In My Family Tree
To learn about the wonderful qualities that dads in our family tree have exemplified, we can talk to our kids about what makes a super hero. Then ask them which of these qualities they think their dad is best at. Next, we can ask if they know any dads in their extended family who are super too. If you want to, before sitting down with your kids, find some stories about your ancestors that show courage, kindness, generosity, etc. and be ready to tell your kids about it. They can draw a picture on each box, or write something about the dad they are featuring, or glue a picture there.
Father’s Day Card
This is just a quad fold card. Ask your child to fill in the card by thinking about what Dad does that is like a super hero. Draw or paste a picture of his face on the super dad.
